History of Wedding Invitations.

Prior to the modern printing press, Wedding invitations were announced by the local town crier. This then evolved to written invitations, but due to poor literacy within the towns, only those who could read the invitations would attend the weddings, in this case it was nobles. These written invitations were common around nobility. Families would commission monks who were skilled in the art of calligraphy. In todays modern age invitations have changed quite a bit. The mere Meeting invitation has manifested into a digital message, where wedding invitations are still professional invites that are most likely created by an invitation maker. The art of calligraphy has been replaced by the humble printer and the focus is on the overall theme of the wedding stationary. From the past to the future the wedding invitation has come a long way. I predict the invitation will evolve with the materials and methods around us to create something wonderful to look forward too.
