I have always wondered how wedding invitations were done long time ago, during the time when my great grandmother was a child. So I asked her, as she always does, she cleared her throat and I knew she was about to go into an elaborative long story which as always ends up not answering my question. Don’t worry I will not bore you with all the details.

Apparently many years ago when there was a wedding, guests used to be invited by a messenger, however because communities were so close knit, the messenger would just go around in a certain area and just shout out the invitation. So if you heard him then you were invited, unless of course there was bad blood between the families. Likewise if you did not hear him, you relied on members of your family or community to let you know about the wedding. Wedding invitations have come a long way, just look at some of these designs some of these companies have created.
