The Peugeot Partner is relatively new to Australia and a quick glimpse suggests that it has a decent payload area and capacity. But more importantly, the Partner provides an authoritative and comfortable driving position.
There is only one trim level across the Partner range, but with two load volumes and two payload options, Peugeot has configured the van to suit most customer needs. Two body lengths are available, offering potential buyers between 1800 and 2050 mm load lengths. The barn type rear door permits easy access and the Partner can hold a 1200 x 800mm pallet between the wheel tubs.
With a load volume ranging from 3.3 to 4.1 square meters, the Partner blusters a 1250 mm load area height, and in tandem with a payload of up to 850 kg, Peugeot definitely placed the Partner well ahead of its rivals.
At the heart of the Partner is a four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine good for 55 kW and generates a solid torque curve. It is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox that offers acceptable ratio spread for business purposes while providing economic highway travel.
The Partner is fitted with standard driver’s three-point inertia seatbelts, cruise control with speed limiter function, ABS brakes with EBD. Standard interior kit includes power steering, air-conditioning, power windows and mirrors, trip computer, remote central locking, load restraint and a horde of storage compartments.
