TOYOTA Develops Personal Transport Robot – WINGLET

TMC (Toyota Motor Corporation) in Tokyo has developed a personal transport assistance robot ridden in a standing position called ‘WINGLET’.

The Winglet consist of a body that consist of electric motor, two wheels and internal sensor that constantly monitor the user’s position and make adjustments in power to ensure the stability. Moreover a parallel link mechanism allow rider to forward, backward and turn simply by shifting body weight.

Toyota is always innovative and inventing new technologies giving direction to world’s new automotive industry. This would a grate invention in current era of Global warming. As this will be a grate help for individual transporter to commute quickly without any physical strain. However it has been schedule not to come for practical use with Toyota partners before 2010.Everyone in the automotive industry are really excited about this to come in practical use.
